As part of healing, I am writing a letter to my dearest Sheba who just tragically lost her life.
My dearest Sheba,
Words can never truely express just how I felt about you. Your were such a bright light in my life. You always knew when I was home before I even got out of the car. I would see you looking out the window and you would be “talking” to me before I even got to the door. And of course, your “happy dance” once I got inside! You loved to talk to me. Just talk and talk and talk. You were one of a kind. I little bossy too
Every time I was in the kitchen you would “tell me” you wanted a treat…. and dance around until you got one! You always snuggled at the end of the couch and loved, loved, loved your pillows to rest your head on. Thank you for taking in Buttercup like a mother. I have never seen two dogs play and look out after each other like you two did. You know, Butters really misses you too. She doesn’t want to go outside without her Sheba. It’s so quiet at home now without you. You were so full of life and color. Not only your constant talking, but the way you would howl when you heard sirens. I will always think of you when I hear a siren. And run, boy did you love to run and go for rides. Sara picked out your resting place where you loved to stand and watch out the neighborhood from our backyard. We planted a magnolia tree for you and flowers. You would like it. Remember how you chewed my one tree, and liked to eat my flowers?…. echinea to be exact. I will plant you some of those when they come in season. Good Bye my sweet, sweet girl. You will be sorely missed and never forgotten.
With all my love, your mommie.
